Dialogue"We are short on every major supply and to make it worse, that damnable pet of Old Mack's is eating what remains of our meat. See if you can talk to the man and find a way to feed his pet without sacrificing our remaining food stores. I've tried it myself and his pet almost ate me! Mack is on guard duty just outside Beacon's Perch in Deldrimor Bowl."
Objectives1. Speak with Old Mack in Deldrimor Bowl.
2. Feed Joe 10 succulent juniper meats.
3. Speak with Old Mack in Deldrimor Bowl.
4. Return to Master Saberlin for your reward.
WalkthroughDo not talk to either Old Mack or Joe the devourer just yet, as the quest summary suggests. If you do, Joe will follow you around and it may be difficult to keep him alive, because of his low level. If you do accidentally talk to him first, you can get him stuck on a tree in the area immediately after where you meet him to lose him. However it is important to note that the mission can still be sucessfully completed if Joe dies.

You can get the succulent juniper meat first, then return to the two of them, "speak" with Joe, Old Mack and finally Master Saberlin.

Note: There is a group of succulent junipers fighting with a band of centaurs right off the road to the right. But they will provide you with only 8 portions of juniper meat. You can kill this group several times if need be, by rezoning then talking to Old Mack when you have 10 portions of juniper meat. Or you can do the quest as it was intended, by talking to Old Mack and hunting down Junipers with Joe in tow and feeding him the meat.
